Front or rear? Has anything been done to the car recently? Brake pads, or any other component replaced?
Not sure i think the middle but will check.
Update 1: there is play in the diff. Glad i got extended warranty. The garage needs to find out if it will be repaired or replaced and contact my insurance provider. Anyone had this? Ill keep you updated for the sake of sharing experience
I think I am hearing the same sounds on my car in low speed. Have you finally figured it out what exactly it was about and how difficult it is to fix?
Even in new cars, many PSA models have one problem: a slight knocking sound from the right front suspension over minor bumps at low speeds. No one has yet diagnosed it.
This is not related to bumps, it is on 4x4 models happening on rear axle electric drive, when pushing and releasing gas pedal only.
Like this one? It also comes only in 4x4.
Yes. There is play in the diff and its going to be a serious job. Waiting on my insurance now, i bought a year of warranty. solution will be made clear coming days keep you posted
This is not my problem. As stated in OP
Update 2: the car needs a new differential and som cog wheels for the electric motor, the insurance has agreed bit only with a revision piece. I can understand this cause when i asked how much it wouldve been if i would have to have paid he answered north of 5000 euros…..
Really happy it is covered
Hopefully, this is a good diagnosis. What about the availability of parts for such a repair?
Why would it be a bad diagnosis? I went to a certified dealer and they checked the car. Monday i will hear the shipping time of the parts.
I am rather surprised that such a car has this problem so soon “21 and 88 000 kms
Oh man, i thought that noise is normal. Have the same with my 2 years old car (30.000km).
Hi everyone,
I have a 2023 DS 7 E-TENSE 4×4 300 and I’ve been experiencing a single clicking / ticking noise when braking and then immediately accelerating again, especially at low speeds. The sound was hard to locate inside the cabin – it didn’t feel like it came from one specific wheel or corner.
I took the car to the authorised DS service and they diagnosed the issue as an axle bushing (axle washer/spacer) problem. They replaced the part under warranty within 1 day, and the noise has been completely gone since then.
It’s been around 7,000 km after the repair now and the problem has not returned, so the fix seems to be permanent.
I’m sharing this because I’ve seen other DS 7 owners reporting a similar clicking noise, and this might help anyone trying to identify the cause. If anyone else had the same issue and a different diagnosis, please share your experience.
Thanks.
Hi @JaScO
In car of @Jeroen_P is probably a different case.
Rear suspension issue like yours is described here: Rear suspension issues
Had two problems with mine, fixed in warranty. One was with top fixation of rear damper and second time distance pads on rear axes / diff. I last months they changed type of pads, it looks like there was design flaw.
I think it is problem specially with e-tense 4×4 because of higher forces on rear axle.
Had the same problem with mine, and they changed the diff, which seemed to solve the problem. However over the past few weeks the clicking is back (not as bad a last time, but it’s there). I love this car but the niggles are heart breaking. I’ve also got issues appear with my heated seats, adaptive headlights, climate control, and android auto. Hoping there’s a bug in the software somewhere and those bits can be resolved easily, but reckon the mysterious creak will end up with the car in the garage for a week or 2 for them to try and work out the next steps.
I feel for the DS dealers (we have a fantastic franchise garage)as they are forever waiting on DS technical to support on issues which slows everything down
So diff has been swapped out the repair was ~4000 euro’s
Good grief im not sure about these cars. Also i have never ever seen such a unreliable gas milage reading. I get in the car it says 500 kms left on petrol, i get out after a 30 km drive i have 420(!) left. I get in the car next day i have 440 left.
Also cant seem to update my car whatever i try with USB ETC.
I will keep the car for now, but not to happy.
I want to love it. But not in love
